So how does it work?

In the first three years, the fund will support up to 15 organizations with grants ranging from R$ 75,000 to R$ 150,000 per year, for up to three consecutive years. The selected organizations will receive mentoring and monitoring throughout the project. We are directing resources specifically to organizations that do not have direct access to large funders, providing long-term institutional support to those that, until now, have only been able to access funding for specific projects.

The first round of support is scheduled for the first half of 2025 and will focus on local journalism. The decision to prioritize this segment in the pilot phase is based on the findings of a field survey and studies on resource distribution.

In addition, we seek a more equitable distribution of resources, covering greater geographic, racial, and gender diversity, as well as different types of media outlets. With these changes, we aim to strengthen a more robust, inclusive, and resilient journalistic ecosystem, capable of playing a key role in promoting democracy and access to quality information.
